I’ll admit it, when I first decided to do a weekly blog, I was a big overwhelmed with the idea of having to come up with content. I knew there would be weeks when I wouldn’t be sure what to post at all. And for some reason, this week was one of those. So, I took a moment to revisit some of the places where I found some inspiration in the beginning, which was surprisingly Tumblr. The ability to search for things there, is really pretty great.
I saw the most recent entry for a blog I started to follow called Causes and Effect, and since we’re at the start of a new year, I thought I would share this with you, as well because it’s the epitome of paying it forward.
The blog started in 2013 by writer Melinda Newman. She decided to make a $10 donation to a different cause every single day for a year and post about it. What an amazing commitment! It inspired a journalist Brian Mansfield, who once Melinda’s year was up, took over the donating and blog last year. It’s now taken on a life of it’s own and inspired even more people. This year, there will be 12 different people taking over the blog, each donating and posting daily for a month. How awesome is that? Talk about a resolution that causes a change!
Take a minute if you have a chance, to go check out the blog. It’s truly something awesome to behold.
