Charity Miles: Move With Purpose

Charity Miles: Move With Purpose

As you can see from previous posts, I’m a great fan of companies that are considered “Conscious Capitalists” and find a way to give back through their business structure.  In recently delving more into social media and doing some research on the companies that have an impact, I stumbled onto an app that immediately caught my attention just on it’s name alone – Charity Miles. I immediately went to the website to learn more about it, because the idea seemed so interesting.

How many of us wear activity bands and track every step we take on a daily basis? Well, Charity Miles is taking full advantage of this trend and has found a way to make every mile matter for people who are registered on their app. It’s a simple concept and doesn’t require anything new of users that are already into the idea of tracking their activity. All you have to do is download the app (available for both iOS and Android users), set up and account. When it’s time to get moving, open the app and select the charity you’d like that workout to go to and you’re literally off and running to raise money for wonderful causes!

It almost sounds too good to be true, right? How can you just go about your normal activity, not have to provide  any sort of donations or credit card info and still be raising money for a good cause? Charity Miles has partnered with some very high profile companies, like Johnson & Johnson and MasterCard, that are looking to do good with their advertising budgets, so they sponsor the miles and donate with that. You’ll get some basic ads while using the app, and for that, you are helping to support some great causes. The company is connected to over thirty reputable and highly rated charity organizations such as  The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Autism Speaks and The American Diabetes Association.

So what are you waiting for? Head on over to the app store on your phone and get moving for social good – every mile matters!
